Why Choose A TUDOR Watch?

All TUDOR watches are 100% Swiss Made. This means everything has been meticulously engineered in Switzerland, from the movement, manufacturing and casing to the final inspections. Find out more about what makes a Swiss watch in our guide.

TUDOR benefits from Rolex’s watchmaking know-how, infrastructure and approach to quality. These watches use Rolex’s superior processes and approach to quality for a compelling and innovative timepiece that’s much more attainable.

TUDOR boasts its own in-house movement, certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). This means each timepiece undergoes a rigorous series of quality controls and tests to ensure the highest precision and quality possible. TUDOR watches are a perfect choice of wristwear for the bold and adventurous but, with so much choice, you may have some queries as you hunt for the perfect one. We've put together the following answers to common TUDOR queries. If your question doesn’t feature here, get in touch with our Customer Services & Sales Team.

  • Are TUDOR watches luxury?

Yes, TUDOR watches are classed as luxury wristwear. This is due to the premium materials and intricate mechanisms and details that give TUDOR its reputation for prestigious Swiss craftsmanship that stands the test of time.

  • Are TUDOR watches a good investment?

TUDOR watches provide that perfect balance between luxury and accessibility, making them a worthwhile investment for those important moments in our lives. With inclusive prices and mechanisms that last a lifetime, TUDOR timepieces are a great entry point into the world of luxury watches.

This sterling reputation also means that TUDOR watches retain their value well. Whether you're a seasoned collector or a first-time buyer, these watches are the perfect timepieces to enhance your collection.

  • Are TUDOR watches waterproof?

Every TUDOR watch is equipped with a screw-down crown. Once this is fully screwed down against the case, your watch is guaranteed waterproof to the pressure stated in your manual or on the back of the case.

  • How do you use the watch bezel function on a TUDOR?

If your TUDOR watch features a unidirectional rotatable bezel, you need to start by rotating your bezel counter-clockwise until the triangle faces the minute hand. When you check your watch at any later time, the difference between the position of the triangle and the position of the minute hand will tell you how much time went by.

If you’re using your watch for diving, the bezel of your TUDOR diving watch can only rotate counter-clockwise for safety reasons. This is to prevent an accidental movement of the bezel and stop errors in judging bottom time from happening.

  • How to clean a TUDOR watch

Start by making sure that the winding crown is screwed down properly and clean your TUDOR watch gently with a microfiber cloth or a soft brush and soapy water. Finish by rinsing with fresh water. Remember to do this after every dip in the sea too. If your TUDOR watch has a leather strap, be sure not get the strap wet and dry with a soft cloth as soon as it comes into contact with any water.

  • What is the best TUDOR watch to buy?

Looking to treat yourself or someone special to a TUDOR watch, but not sure which one to go for? Our guide to buying a TUDOR talks you through each of the iconic collections to help you find your dream timepiece.

  • Are TUDOR watches automatic?

Every TUDOR watch is equipped with a self-winding or mechanical movement. Automatic watches wind themselves while worn on the wrist, whilst a mechanical watch will need winding by the crown each day. If you’re wondering how to wind your automatic watch, discover our helpful guide.

  • Do TUDOR watches use ROLEX movements?

The movements are made by the Rolex group, so you’ll be getting Rolex quality but specifically designed for TUDOR watches.

  • Can you overwind a TUDOR watch?

The crown on your TUDOR watch needs at least 70 full clockwise turns to be fully wound, however, you cannot overwind a TUDOR watch.

  • Who are TUDOR watches made by?

Founded in 1926 by Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of Rolex, TUDOR is a sister company to Rolex.

  • When does TUDOR release new watches?

TUDOR steals the show time and time again with its new watches and continues to push the boundaries of modern watch technology. Check out TUDOR's latest releases here.
