Borrowing its impressive design cues from the TAG Heuer Carrera 360 which launched in 2006 as well as the Carreras of the 1960’s, the Carrera Day-Date Chronograph is the grown-up big brother of the Carrera Calibre 16 date model. Taking an already iconic aesthetic and making it even more impressive, the day-date model goes for the ‘more is more’ approach, creating a more technical and sporty style with an array of patterned surfaces, applied markers, printed text and intricate detailing.
Design flourishes borrowed from the Carrera Calibre 360 include the imposing oversized 43mm stainless steel case which is also slightly deeper than others in the collection such as the calibre S, lending it a reassuringly heavy feel on the wrist.
With plenty of information on display on this striking watch, the minute and seconds hash-marks have been located on an angled inner-bezel, freeing up plenty of room on the sunbrushed anthracite dial for the signature applied rhodium plated minute markers, which are arranged in 5-minute increments and accentuated by small triangles on the inner-bezel.
Also inspired by the Carrera 360 as well as the Grand Carrera and the Monaco V4, is the distinctive double crown which accentuates its bold design.
