Rooted in a spirit of exploration, this Seiko Prospex Alpinist 39.5mm Automatic Men's Watch continues a collection first introduced in 1959 for Japan’s Yama-otoko mountain men. The pine-inspired dial brings this outdoor heritage to life through warm gold-tone details, cathedral-style hands and a combination of Arabic numerals and wedge-shaped markers. Heritage signatures including the traditional Alpinist script and Mountain Device caseback emblem connect the design to the pioneering Laurel Alpinist, while the leather strap introduces a refined finish suited to adventures outdoors and in the city.

An internal rotating compass bezel reinforces the Alpinist’s field-watch character, while the magnified date display brings useful information clearly into view. LumiBrite on the hands and hour markers supports readability after the light begins to fade.

Seiko’s in-house automatic 6R55 calibre provides an approximate 72-hour power reserve and an accuracy of -15/+25 seconds per day. A stop-seconds function enables more precise time setting, while the movement can be admired through the exhibition caseback.

The stainless steel case is treated with Seiko’s super-hard coating for increased scratch resistance and protected by sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective inner coating. A screw-down crown and 200m water resistance provide robust protection, while the leather strap is secured by a three-fold clasp with push-button release.
