Heritage Black Bay Automatic Men's Watch (MX2897)
Like all Heritage models, the Tudor Heritage Black Bay is the very opposite of a mere re-edition. It is the result of a creative process that sees the aesthetic codes that contributed to the renown of historical models preserved and injected with modern touches.
A modern synthesis of the emblematic Tudor diver's models of the past 60 years, the Heritage Black Bay was awarded the Revival prize at the Grand Prix d'Horologerie de Genève in 2013, and is an open book on decades of deep-water adventures featuring lines inspired by the brand's first diver's watch, the Tudor Submariner, launched in 1954. Its slender, elongated lugs, domed crystal and dial are all details shared by the first Tudor Submariners.
Featuring superbly crafted interchangeable wristbands, a robust 41mm steel case with a refined finish and a coloured, anodized aluminium crown tube, these are just a few of the contemporary design elements that contribute to the Heritage Black Bay's powerful identity. Other details meanwhile, such as the characteristic angular-shaped Snowflakes hands first introduced by TUDOR in 1969, evoke the brand's aesthetic heritage.
With its black-chocolate dial beneath the scratch resistant domed sapphire crystal, its pink-gold hands and hour markers, its creamy luminescent material and its burgundy unidirectional rotatable steel bezel, this Heritage Black Bay is reminiscent of the gentle warm patina of an antique watch. Waterproof to 200m, the imposing winding crown of the heritage Black Bay is a nod to a model presented in 1958 and dubbed Big Crown by collectors, and is given a modern edge with its burgundy red insert.
Like all models in the Heritage line, the Tudor Heritage Black Bay comes with two interchangeable bracelets: an adjustable fabric strap with a sophisticated weave, as well as a satin-finished steel bracelet with a folding clasp. A piece of engineering excellence, the TUDOR Heritage Black Bay is powered by a self-winding mechanical TUDOR calibre 2824 automatic movement with a power reserve of approximately 38 hours.
Designed for endurance as much as pleasure, a Tudor watch lives. Pulsates. It will take you into the world of micro-precision. Pleasing to the eye and exciting to the mind, this precision mechanism will withstand the rigours of time, its exceptional materials, durability and strength of design making each watch a unique object.
