Ebel was founded in 1911 by husband and wife team: Eugene Blum and his wife; Alice Levy. The name Ebel comes from a love story, a fusion of their initials: Eugene Blum et Levy. Ebel is a Swiss luxury watch brand based in La Chaux De Fonds in Switzerland, this continues to be where our HO is today. Ebel has very strong links with Architecture hence our tag line: "The Architects of Time." Ebel owns the Villa Turque, a building designed by the world famous architect Le Corbusier. The Villa Turque is now the House of Ebel. Our links with architecture come from our belief in the synergy between good watch making and good architecture and it is our ambition to create watches like architecture in that they should be:

Ebel is one of the few brands that have their own automatic chronograph calibers. Ebel also became the first brand to become seriously involved in sports sponsorship. In the 1970's Ebel pioneered the sponsorship of Golf, Formula 1 and Tennis. We are now the very first watch brand to have a long term strategy with football. We aim to be the official timing partner of Europe's most prestigious football clubs and currently have a partnership with: Arsenal, Real Madrid, Ajax, Glasgow Rangers, Bayern Munich and Olympique Lyonnais with more to follow...
