Employees at Manchester Trafford Centre

We've spent a lot of time working on developing a greater understanding of our reasons why our business is here. We realised that Beaverbrooks' purpose is Enriching Lives, and we will always put this first, never bending from it and always being driven by it, as it is what we stand for. We then worked out which values are really key to our business - Integrity, Passion & Caring.

We developed a list of Behaviours that everyone constantly works towards, giving people real clarity as to "how people are supposed to act around here." We brought the whole thing together under the banner of The Beaverbrooks Way, and every Beaverbrooks team member has their very own copy.

A wealth of development opportunities

We employ over 800 people at over 65 locations throughout the UK. We believe in encouraging each member of every team to develop their knowledge and skills to achieve their full potential, whatever that may be.

All our new people attend a structured, three-day Induction Training Programme. This involves an introduction to the company, product knowledge and selling techniques. These skills are then further developed in store and on successful completion you’ll be rewarded with a £1,000 pay increase.

As an individual you will be given the opportunity to apply for our Management Development Programme. This consists of two stages with plenty of ongoing support from both your own store and placements in other branches. The success of this course has meant that 100% of store management positions are filled from within. Remember we want to give you the opportunity to reach your full potential.

We believe it all helps make the Beaverbrooks experience positive and rewarding for both our people and our customers, and we must be doing something right. We have been ranked in the top 5 for the last 6 years in The Sunday Times 'Best Companies To Work For' awards and came 1st in 2009.

If you'd like more personal development opportunities, we'd love to hear from you.

In May 2007 we were thrilled to have been awarded the prestigious accolade of Financial Times Best Workplace 2007, rewarding the company for our commitment to both staff and customers.

Our loyalty to employees and the high level of satisfaction shown by staff is key to company’s ethos.

In addition to this honour, we recently achieved 3rd in the Sunday Times Top 100 Companies to Work For.

Mark Adlestone, Managing Director says of the achievement: We couldn't be more thrilled with the award and we're extremely proud of everyone in the entire Beaverbrooks team. We have been privileged enough to be in the top 4 of the Sunday Times poll for the past seven years. Our work ethic is as important to us as ever and we pride ourselves on making our working environment open, positive and motivated. It's particularly gratifying to be recognised for these awards as they are voted for by our own people, and we're looking forward to celebrating with the whole team."

The award is testament to the strong sense of 'family' at Beaverbrooks that runs throughout the company ensuring that we are leaders in providing the best customer service."

We pride ourselves on the quality of service and care we offer employees and customers.
